about

Raphael Attar is one of those rappers they have now. He once did a rap so powerful it made Fearne Cotton mildly excited. He once did a rap on a party boat with one of the people from Skins on it (he felt quite awkward and out of place on the party boat, and he’s never watched Skins). He walked past Plan B once. He had a blog for a bit, and got more hits for a post insulting Yorkshire than for every other post combined, which probably says something about human nature. His SEO is through the roof. He spent too long indoors last summer and ended up in two different gangs with just him and his cat Dustin in them. He’s trying his best.

He’s got this new mixtape out, called Raphael Attar Sings The Hits. It’s about feeling sad, and beating people up, and RoboCop. Some of the songs on it are super old songs that never fit onto other projects cos they were too weird, or because they weren’t weird enough. Some of the songs are so genuinely earnest, it’s almost as if they’ve gone all the way around the loop to irony again. I’m pretty sure it all counts as art anyway, and I would know, because I’m Yoko Ono.
