about

After the success of 'Cool But Rude' and the minor tabloid sensation of his 'Gary Barlow' riddim, Raphael Attar returns with his second full-length mixtape: 'World's Greatest Everything'.

Raphael Attar is a rapper, "poet", comedian, community leader and inspiration.

As frontman for the band Paper Tiger (Wah Wah 45s) he has featured on numerous releases including the well-received 2013 LP 'Laptop Suntan' and accompanying single 'The Sting', a collaboration with Homeboy Sandman (Stones Throw).

Away from the band, Attar's material tends towards the point where belligerence meets absurdity - the point at which all great rap music resides. His work has been played on BBC Radio One and BBC 6 Music and featured in press outlets including Q, FACT Magazine, The Observer and The Mirror.

'World's Greatest Everything' is a concept album of sorts, a heartfelt paean to Attar's own manifold talents. The focus does occasionally stray beyond the artist himself though, encompassing such subjects as Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy, a lovely day out at the zoo and the problems with TV Chef James Martin.

"This has just cracked me up! Bloody brilliant!!!!" - Gary Barlow

“Totally hilarious.” – The Mirror

“The most exciting new artist in Britain. I am obsessed with him" - Nick Grimshaw (BBC Radio One)

"Charmingly ramshackle." - The Observer

"Dope! [Paper Tiger] track with Homeboy is real nice!" - Paul White (producer for Danny Brown, Guilty Simpson etc.)

"Honoured.. especially to be rhymed with Dalai Lama!" - Simon Schama

about

Raphael Attar London, UK

Raphael Attar is one of those rappers they have now. He once did a rap so powerful it made Fearne Cotton mildly excited. He once did a rap on a party boat with one of the people from Skins on it (he felt quite awkward and out of place on the party boat, and he’s never watched Skins). He walked past Plan B once. He’s trying his best. ... more
